[TUT] Download .jar files using OM 4.2 Handler [WITH SCREENSHOTS]

INTRODUCTION:

►This Downloading Trick was ORIGINALLY posted by LITEMINT, so all credits goes to him. I only modified, edited and added some instructions and screenshots to make the tutorial more comprehensive and easy to follow.


►In this tutorial, you will be able to download .jar files of java files like games and applications using Opera Mini Handler without renaming using a file explorer.


►NOte that this trick only applies to DIRECT LINKS. The .jar attachments here in symbianize cannot be downloaded using this trick because they are not direct links or simply, they do not contain a a .jar extension

REQUIREMENTS:

You need the following:
1. Fully configured OM 4.2 Handler (meaning, your OM must be capable of connecting and downloading)

2. ast Requirement is PATIENCE.. Follow and read carefully!

STEPS / PROCEDURES:

STEP 1

With your Opera Mini opened, type, paste or have the download linkk of the .jar file in the Adress Box, Then CLick GO TO.

In my example, this is my Direct Link:

►If you are in the DOWNLOAD PAGE already, proceed to STEP 3
BTW, the DOWNLOAD PAGE looks like this:


STEP 2
The DOWNLOAD PAGE will appear containing the fil name, size and the OPEN BUTTON


STEP 3
a. Click MENU > Tools > Settings > HANDLER SETTINGS


b. UN-CHECK the box in "Use .jar1 to download .jar file"
(it means, when the file is downloaded completely, there is no
need to rename it from .jar1 to .jar using a file manager or explorer.
No renaming needed, just download and install. thats it.)


c. CHECK the TEMPLATE box then Click SAVE


STEP 4
In the Download page, simply press # 1 (a.k.a. enter url shortcut key) the Select INSERT SYMBOL to enable Full screen Editing.


STEP 5
In the URL, ERASE or DELETE the http://.
In the Screenshots, I hilighted/marked then deleted the http:// for you to see the changes.

STEP 6
We will now create TEMPLATES for Hassle-free Downloading of .jar files

Click OPTIONS then Select TEMPLATE


STEP 7
Now Click OPTIONS then Click ADD

In the NAME: type this

In the VALUE: type this

then click OK


STEP 9
Add another template by Clicking OPTIONS then Click ADD


In the NAME: type this

FIRST TRICK

STEP 10
Now that the two (2) needed Templates are done, we'll then proceed to the DOWNLOADING proper.

a. Click OK on the FIRST TRICK to insert it to the direct URL


b.Once you have inserted the FIRST TRICK template, the link would look like this.. (the text in red is the First Trick)

STEP 11
a. PLACE the cursor AFTER the LAST letter of the link which is r (as in sa pinaka-last letter)

b. CLick OPTIONS the Click TEMPLATE


c. Click the SECOND TRICK to Insert it.


d.After inserting all needed templates, the direct download link would look like this:
(The First trick is the BLUE one ; the Second trick is the RED one ; the Direct Link is the BLACK one)

e. Now Click OPTIONS then OK. Then Press GO TO

f. The Link will now reload and the SAVE BUTTON of the .jar file will now appear.


STEP 12
Click SAVE and Select your preferred Storage Space (I recommend to use the E:/ as storage)
....

STEP 13
a. Then, "APPLICATION balh blah blah" will POP out if you are using an unsigned Opera mini handler.
Just Click OK and the Downloading will start


Just wait a little while for the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE Prompt to pop-up.


And then Go to your Memory card, install (in s60 devices),
open and play/use now your java app/game!

STEP 14
LAST NOTE, PLEASE READ THIS

> After you have successfully downloaded your .jar file,
The next downloading be an easier one. (syempre tapos na tayong gumawa ng templates eh)

> When downloading another .jar file, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS

1. ERASE or DELETE the http:// sa unahan ng Direct Link

2. Insert the FIRST TRICK Template sa unahan ng Direct Link

3. Insert the SECOND TRICK sa hulihan ng Direct link

SUMMARY:
